Ranger’s legendary commitment to quality construction paired with its expansive and professional dealer network have made premium aluminum fishing boats accessible to anglers nationwide. The legendary brand’s first aluminum deep v model, the VS1780, met with such demand that its production facility required expansion. With the new VS1680, Ranger extends their aluminum deep v lineup and makes it even easier to experience the pride that comes with being a part of the Ranger Family.
Measuring 16 feet, 8 inches in length, the VS1680 is rated for a maximum 90 horsepower and available in single or dual console configurations. Standard with a custom-matched, Road Armor Equipped® trailer, Minn Kota trolling motor and Lowrance Elite 3X electronics at the console, Ranger’s newest Deep V fishing platform can be towed with a small tow vehicle and fits into most garages and budgets with a starting price around $23,000.
“Anglers trust the Ranger brand and when we began building aluminum boats a lot of people were intrigued. Once they discovered that the same quality, performance, innovation and attention to detail found in our fiberglass boats was manifest in our aluminum models, the demand exceeded even our own projections,” said Ranger Boats President Randy Hopper.
“A lot of credit goes to our wealth of tremendous dealers across the country for being accessible in key markets and for knowing what their customers want and need. They share that information with us and we listen. When you compare the fishability, the fit and finish of a Ranger aluminum boat to other brands it doesn’t take long to see the differences and advantages that consistently set us apart.”
The new Ranger aluminum VS1680 is a feature-laden boat complete with a solid, all-welded and foam-filled aluminum hull constructed without the use of any wood components. Multispecies anglers will appreciate the oversized front deck and 24 gallon fuel capacity combined in a highly maneuverable package.
Built with inside depths of 23.5 inches for added peace of mind while running in big water or trolling through choppy conditions, the VS1680 features a custom-designed fiberglass console to accommodate walk-through windshields, a full complement of gauges and space for flush mounting large-screened electronics. With custom-fitted marine upholstery throughout the vessel, the VS1680 is equipped with adjustable driver and front passenger seats as well as a trio of matching fishing seats, which can be utilized in a variety of configurations within the cockpit or on the front and back casting decks.
The Ranger aluminum VS1680 offers enhanced aesthetics with metallic paint on the hulls, Ranger’s proprietary Rawhide floor covering and available snap-in carpet throughout the cockpit area. Loaded with a variety of dry, secure storage options throughout the vessel, the boat has a center rod storage under the front deck capable of storing 8’ rods as well as additional rod storage in the portside gunnel. The front deck also includes a livewell/baitwell forward of the cockpit, while an additional oversized livewell is housed at the stern.
The new Ranger VS1680 is available with a wide range of factory-rigged outboards and comes paired with a custom-matched RangerTrail® trailer for easier towing and maneuvering. Featuring solid, channel beam steel, the NMMA-certified RangerTrail trailer delivers exceptional strength and is equipped with a center swing jack, locking swing-away tongue, integrated load guides, waterproof lights and durable Road Armor finish.
