Senators have arrived home for July 4th recess and will be spending the next week in their states. All firearm owners, hunters, target shooters, and outdoor trade business owners should call or email your senators and urge them co-sponsor the Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act, S. 2363, the most important package of measures for the benefit of sportsmen in a generation.
We must keep up the momentum. NSSF expects that the U.S. Senate will have an initial vote to move forward with S. 2363 soon after Senators return from the July 4th recess.
We cannot let anti-hunting activists defeat S.2363! Act now and call your senators at 202-224-3121 and urge them to co-sponsor the Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act of 2014! You can also send emails to your senators. If possible, find out the location of your senators’ in-state offices from their websites and reach out to those offices during this recess. It will make an impression!
Among other things, this historic legislation will prevent anti-hunting groups from restricting hunters’ ammunition choices; provide state fish & game agencies with more flexibility to use Pittman-Robertson funds to build and maintain badly needed public shooting rangers; and help facilitate and provide for more access to Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service lands and waters for hunting, recreational fishing and shooting.
An impressive list of 45 Senators are already co-sponsors. If yours are not co-sponsors, ask them to sign on. If they are already onboard, then thank them for their leadership.
Act now and call your senators at 202-224-3121. Send emails to your senators.
