Lefebre stuns with comeback at Lewis Smith

Let’s talk about what went down at the FLW Tour at Lewis Smith. Dave Lefebre said every day on stage he had the fish to win. Then he went out and proved it by sacking the biggest bag on the final day. And when all six anglers ahead of him stumbled, Lefebre stood alone on top. So how many places did Lefebre’s win jump him in the Majors Rankings? Nine places, as he’s now ranked 66th in the last two years.

You want to hear about a weird happening with the rankings? Andy Morgan finished seventh at Lewis Smith and his average actually dipped. How? He dropped a second-place finish at the 2013 PAA event at Douglas Lake. So he swapped a second for a seventh, thus dipping his average. That said, he’s still hanging on to his No. 1-ranking.

Morgan’s “dip” was hardly the most noteworthy thing that happened in the top 10, though. Wesley Strader is currently leading the Angler of the Year race on the FLW Tour, and in the process he’s jumped into the top 10; No. 8 to be exact.
