Carbon Express Logo 1In a very tense match over Iran Carbon Express Professionals and Danish National Team members Martin Damsbo, Stephan Hansen, and Patrick Laursen win the compound men’s for stage one of the World Cup. Throughout the week in Shanghai, Iran had been upsetting the brackets during the qualification rounds. On the final day the Iranian’s presented a difficult challenge for team CX with an opening 59-point end. In the first end, it was individual Asian Games Champion Esmaeil EBADI that faltered by dropping his first arrow out of the middle followed by the Danes scoring a 56.

World Cup Stage 1 Shanghai China - Carbon ExpressDuring the second round Iran found the middle and so did the Danes and the lead was dropped by two.

A score of 59 in the third end for Denmark put pressure on the Iranian’s but Iran held their ground with a two-point lead as they headed into the last six arrows.

Team CX showed what it takes to be world champion with five out of their six final arrows landing into the 10-ring and one on the line requiring the line judge to award an upgraded to the Danes score which gave them a perfect 60. The Iranian team finished with a very respectful 57.

Carbon Express is very proud of their Danish team members and of the performance that the Nano Pro Series arrows delivered during this first stage of the World Cup. The team now stands ready to defend their World Cup title at Copenhagen in July.
