Bob Jensen was introduced to the sport of fishing as a toddler and has been an active angler since. Bob has been involved in fishing education, promotion, and communications for the past thirty five years.
Jensen began his career in the fishing industry as a fishing guide, tournament angler, and Camp Fish instructor. In these roles, Bob spent over two hundred days annually fishing throughout the Midwest for a variety of species of fish. It was during this time that he developed an interest in sharing successful fishing techniques with other anglers.
Bob began sharing his angling knowledge with others as an outdoor writer. His syndicated fishing columns appear in general circulation newspapers and outdoor tabloids throughout North America, and his feature magazine articles have appeared in the In-Fisherman, Fishing Facts, Fins and Feathers, Game and Fish Publications, and numerous regional magazines. Bob’s work is published at least one thousand times annually.
Bob is in demand as a fishing seminar speaker. He has been the featured speaker at major sportshows and fishing symposiums throughout the Midwest. He is also very active in seminars and in-store promotions at the retail dealer level.
Jensen has appeared as a guest on many fishing television shows. In 1988 he launched his own television series, Fishing Iowa. Fishing Iowa aired on network stations throughout Iowa for three(3) years. Bob then began the Outdoor Sportsman television series, which aired through 1994. Jensen has been the host and executive producer of the award-winning Fishing the Midwest television series for twenty two(22) years. Fishing the Midwest is one of the most popular and highly-rated regional fishing television shows in North America
Bob is involved in other fishing promotion/education activities. He is the co-author with Gary Roach and Randy Amenrud of the Pro-Mo’s Secrets series of four walleye-technique books that continue to be very popular among anglers. Bob is also co-host/co-producer of the Pro-Mo’s Secrets series of walleye-technique videotapes.
Jensen is committed to fishing education and promotion and is equally committed to introducing more people to the sport of fishing. He is frequently called upon to coordinate or participate in fishing events that are youth or family oriented.
In all of his activities, Jensen stresses the need for anglers to be active in protecting the resources from which they receive so much pleasure. Bob believes that if anglers become more involved in taking care of our lakes and rivers, fishing will be an even more enjoyable experience for everyone.
