Join Anglers for Conservation and some of Florida’s famous fishing elites as we spend an evening rejoicing and reflecting on the life we experience along our precious waters. This year’s fundraising party will be at the cozy Nyami Nyami River Lodge at the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne Florida. Drinks, dinner, dessert and dancing will be in order as well as a live and silent auction featuring some of the best fishing experiences you can imagine! Tickets are only $50 per person.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit AFC’s angling education programs and the many families that come out with us and enjoy the outdoors together.
Last Year’s Event Recap
Late last year AFC was blessed to be able to celebrate its mission of marine stewardship with many partners and friends in conservation by throwing a party to promote angling and conservation education. The Protect Our Waters fundraising party on November 15th raised close to $20,000 to be used for expanding and improving our education programs and ensuring that AFC remains sustainable so that we may continue our mission for years to come.
Many thanks yous are in order, for without the help of our friends and partners, AFC would not be able to conduct its many education programs and reach so many people throughout Florida and beyond. AFC continues to grow and it is because of the help and support it receives from all of you.
Thank you to our very generous sponsors (listed below) who made it possible to throw such a successful shindig. From the outstanding dinner, to the hoppin’ live ska music, to the exciting live and silent auction bid wars and of course, the electrifying open bar, fun was had by all!
What an amazing feeling it was for us mere mortals of fishing to be in the same room with all of those great fishing gods. Thank you all for coming out and showing your support and reminding us of what our precious waters give us and what we need to give back to them.
Special thanks to Captains Mike Holliday and Jim Ross from the Chevy Florida Insiders Fishing Report, Mark Nichols, creator of D.O.A lures and Blair Wiggins from Addictive Fishing who sold their fishing talents to the highest bidders with exclusive private fishing charter packages.
AFC was also very proud to present for the first time, the Linda Goode Conservation Awards for Outstanding Marine Stewardship. The recipients were; Mike Coneen, Dr. Grant Gilmore and Jody Palmer. These individuals inspire so many on a daily basis in so many ways. It’s an honor to be able to partner with each one of you.
And let us not forget the amazing ladies that put it all together;Errin Gimbert, Lori Gross (not pictured) and AFC Development Director, Heather Sears. Errin and Lori not only worked to make this party a success, they also serve on the Board of AFC as well as other AFC committees. Commitment like that deserves a very big pat on the back!
Thanks to all of you who show your support in all the many ways it takes for a non-profit to succeed in this fast-paced, ever changing world.
