SEOPA Announces Outdoor Contest Winners

SEOPA Logo 2At its 51st annual conference, held in Eufaula, Ala., on Oct. 14-17, the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association (SEOPA) recognized winners in its Excellence in Craft competition, which is sponsored by Chevrolet. First, second and third place winners were announced in nine EIC categories. Also included in the ceremony were presentations of the Sharon Rushton Award

(recognizing outstanding coverage of youth in the outdoors), the Realtree Website Award, and the Conference Site Story featuring Lake Charles, La., where SEOPA met in 2013.

Among the organization members recognized for their professional accomplishments were a number of multiple winners. They included Alabama resident Tes Randle Jolly, who garnered first and second in Outdoor Photography as well as a second in the Magazine Short Story category. Jolly also won the prestigious President’s Award; Jim Casada, who placed first in the Magazine, and Weekly Newspaper categories; Kenny Keiser, who took home The Sharon Ruston Award and first place in the Daily Newspaper; Keith Sutton also won multiple awards.
