Late last year, your NRA led the charge in getting gun owners and sportsmen across The North Star State to contact the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) to put a stop to their agenda to ban lead ammunition in Minnesota. As previously reported, the MDNR held a public forum last week to take public comment on their flawed proposal. Despite receiving feedback from thousands of Minnesotans who actively use public land for hunting, it has become clear that the MDNR is determined to impose this ban despite a lack of scientific justification and the undue burden the regulations would place on Minnesota’s sportsmen and women. The MDNR is determined to force their misguided agenda through in the coming weeks. In response, tomorrow, Wednesday, March 16, state Representative Tom Hackbarth will introduce a bill in the Minnesota House of Representatives with Revisor # 16-6715 that will stop this agenda by prohibiting the MDNR from implementing any rule that bans the use of lead shot in Minnesota. |

On Thursday, March 17, House Bill 2632 is scheduled for a hearing in the Senate Public Safety, Intergovernmental and Military Affairs Committee. As previously reported, HB 2632 would expand the list of possible prohibited possessors to include anyone who has undergone or is undergoing emergency hospitalization. This expansion for emergency hospitalization is vague and could entrap a person who has suffered something as common as diabetic shock to suddenly lose their Second Amendment rights, without due process of the law, simply for receiving care. Additionally under this bill, individuals are required to surrender firearms immediately, or else law enforcement may seize firearms, all without due process. |

When authorities arrived, the home invader was rushed to a hospital, where he underwent surgery. Corral did not appear to relish being forced to defend his home, telling a local media outlet, “It’s something you don’t encounter everyday. You don’t expect to happen so it’s kind of taken its toll.” |

Sure, Sen. Bernie Sanders beat the odds and pulled off a significant primary win against Hillary Clinton in Tuesday’s Michigan primary. But while most pundits credited disaffected white union workers and starry-eyed millennials with the Vermont senator’s win, another issue could have pulled in many of the late deciders who cast their ballot for Sanders. |

Gavin Newsom’s gun-control measure aimed for the fall ballot, arguing it would not prevent criminals from obtaining guns and ammunition via the black market or theft. Instead, the proposal would place additional restrictions on law-abiding people who want to buy ammunition for recreational use, retain guns and magazines that are currently legal or pass down historical or family heirlooms, the California State Sheriffs’ Association wrote in a letter to Newsom’s campaign. |
