He put pressure on his wounded right leg with his left hand while holding onto the store’s gun with his right, occasionally firing back at the men who barged in shooting. “Since they came in shooting, I thought, ‘Yeah, they mean business; they mean to kill all of us,’” he said.

California voters consider even tougher gun control laws
With the anniversary of last year’s terrorist shootings in San Bernardino approaching, California voters are considering expanding some of the nation’s toughest gun control measures through an initiative that would outlaw possession of large-capacity ammunition magazines and require permits to buy ammunition.Proposition 63 also would extend California’s unique program that allows authorities to seize firearms from owners who bought guns legally but are no longer allowed to own them.

Nevada: Battle over background checks heads to Nov. 8 vote
Critics have called the initiative a flawed step toward universal firearm registration that would cut into Second Amendment rights of freedom-loving Nevadans, and cost law-abiding gun owners time and money without making them any safer.“Expanding a broken system is not a way to stop gun violence,” said Ryan Hamilton, an official with NRA Nevadans for Freedom. “Criminals don’t subject themselves to background checks.”
