As I was arriving at the lake there was heavy rain, which stopped and turned to partly cloudy, for a while. Wind direction was extremely strange. It started from the ENE, then went to E, followed by ESE, then SE to S to SSW. With every change came a change in baits, and/or presentations.
It was definitely a “natural” day – Natural Forage Baits day that is. The first fish was on a NFB R4 worm, rigged on a BFishn Tackle Precision H2O jig head. Then came another fish on a Lonnie Stanley Vibra Shaft spinnerbait with a NFB Swim Bait as a trailer. The NFB RT7 rigged on a XPoint XGap hook took over from there, but the best bait was the NFB Jerk Shad rigged on a Daiichi Bleeding Bait Copperhead hook, and a dose of Kick’n Bass Fish Attractants Java, which is applied to the hook slot in the lure.
In the short time I was at the water I caught 9 bass, with the smallest at 14 inches and largest of 18 inches. Most were 17 inches.
Until next time, get out on the water and enjoy a great day of fishing.
