Leaving for a Bear Hunt in Idaho soon. It’s all planned. I’ll be using only my muzzleloader. Do you think I should go? Really sounds exciting. Probably is. It’s a high percentage hunt too. Not over bait mind you but free ranging Black Bears on migration routes into the high country, up where few guys try for them. Not garbage dump bears. Anyway, do you think I should go?
Sure would hate to miss out on some of Georgia’s Fall hunting and fishing even for a few days. Stripers will be up in the last few days of September. Archery season, then muzzleloading season for Whitetail Deer are fully involved in both September and October. Largemouth Bass get active in the shallows as the water temperatures cool.
Then too, as the leaves begin to turn red, yellow and gold, I’d sure hate to miss any days at some of my favorite campsites up north around Rabun or Tallulah. The Rainbows, big Browns and little Brook trout fit perfectly in a hot skillet with eggs and a hot biscuit or two. maybe three. Kids love to do that, wade in a stream. It won’t be too cold to do that for some time. Most of the mountain trout streams stay open all year long now. You’ll have to check it out before you make a cast.
Doves are flying low but are rarely in any danger from my #8 shot. I find that most of the time, I’d rather sit around and eat Bar B Que than waste pellets. Lots of good stories are shared around the game dinners at the early season shoots.
Well whatayathink? Should I go to Idaho for the bear hunt or stick around here and avail myself of all that Georgia has to offer in the fall? Tell you what, let’s make a deal. You hold down the fort for a while and look after everything and I’ll bring back a rug.
