All 10 spots have been filled for the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) National Youth Hunt, QDMA’s signature youth event that will be held on a 35,000-acre farm in southern Georgia on Oct. 25-28.
Each youth was selected from a pool of nominees with the intention of introducing new hunters to the world of white-tailed deer hunting. Youth who will participate in the 2012 Youth Hunt will represent Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas.
“We are really excited to host this great event,” said QDMA’s youth education and outreach manager Daniel Bartley. “In addition to introducing these beginning hunters to the world of whitetail hunting, we also want to ensure they develop a passion for the outdoors.”
The Youth Hunt will provide both rifle and blackpowder safety training and instruction. Additionally, Lance Dement of Jager Pro will present a skills clinic on skeet shooting and give a demonstration of Jager Pro’s night vision equipment. Lance, a former member of the U.S. Olympic Rifle Team, is a regular attendee of QDMA’s Youth Hunt and is an instructor of the rifle safety and instruction.

The 15-second spot will promote the Rack Pack, which launched on August 1, and it will air in both the U.S. and Canada. Several popular hunting networks in the U.S. including the Outdoor Channel, the Sportsman Channel and the NBC Sports channel will air the commercial at various times throughout their programming. In Canada, WildTV will host the commercial.
“The initial excitement around the Rack Pack has been tremendous, and we can’t wait to see what type of interest is spurred by the commercial,” said Bartley.
