Don Banning and I had a fairly good day of fishing.
I started out with a 19″ bass on a BFishn Tackle electric blue Ringworm on a H20 Precision jig head. Later I switched to a Natural Forage Baits R4 Finesse worm in the black/blue fleck color, but still using the B-Fish-N jig head.
As the day progressed and the wind started changing directions and velocity I went to a NFB RT7 worm in black/blue fleck. For those of you who don’t know this is a 7-inch ribbon tail worm. I Texas rigged it on a TTI-Blakemore XPoint worm hook, which was allowed to sink into the weeds before pulling it through with slow side sweep drags, or lift-and-drop. Staying in contact with the weeds was the secret, especially those that were away from shore and in deep water.
All of the hits were difficult to detect since they felt the same as being hung on a weed.
Don used a Wacky rigged Yum Dinger most of the time.
All of my lures were given a dose of Kick’n Bass Fish Attractants Java scent. I’m probably about ready to run out the way I’ve been using it.
Several of our fish were over the 3 pound mark, with two of mine, and two of Don’s being state award size.
Until next time, get out on the water and have a great day of fishing.
