It arrived – the American Tactical Nova Liberty. This one is in 22 cal. I would have preferred 177, but still can give it a try. It has a great wooden stock. I wish it was like the Freedom which had the self-contained pump. Now I have to find a fitting for my Porter-Cable air tank that will fit onto the prob that came with the gun before it can be used. You’ll have to wait to see how it shoots until I can get it to that point.

I finally got to shoot the Taurus USA G2C 9mm pistol, and filmed a video during its first firing. Very nice gun, and great size for using as a CCW.
Although the Taurus USA G2C needed the sights adjusted, I went ahead and shot it at a distance of 25 yards to see if I could at least hit paper with the short 3.2″ barrel. I used Remington UMC and Wolf Performance ammo, and hit the paper. Everything cycled without a problem.
Many of us who shoot videos and write magazine columns have a tendency to skim over very basic items that a beginner needs to see. In this video I show how to remove the slides from a Smith & Wesson SD9VE and a Taurus USA G2C. The S&W does not have a manual safety, while the Taurus does have one. Also, the S&W’s release mechanism is much more difficult to pull down both sides at the same time because of not having indented areas on both sides such as with the Taurus. So, it shows the basics of the “Glock type” take down which so many semi-auto pistols use, and the slight differences that could be encountered.
