A Little Gun Rap From Dan (Multi-Post) – Part 62

Today I had a great day of shooting and fishing. As for the shooting Andy Larsson‘s Skinner Sights Peep Sight made a believer out of me.

I shot the Henry Repeating Arms Carbine H001TLP and Mare’s Leg, both with the Skinner peep sight.

The H001TLP laid 40 rounds into a grouping of 2 inches. As for the Mare’s Leg, I had to do a bit of adjustment on the sight to lower it so there were some direct bullseye shots. All in all, out of all the rounds fired from the two guns, all fell in the 4-inch middle bullseye area.

This was one of those days when it was so much fun that you wanted to keep shooting. It also made me want to place Skinner peep sights on all of my Henry’s, and one of the brass Skinner sights on my Golden Boy. It would shoot as good as it looks. I’ve always been a fan of Henry’s white diamond/brass bead combo on sights, but the Skinner is absolutely great. I swear that it is so good that if adjusted properly just about anyone could hit a bullseye.

I shot two Shoot ‘N’ Plink™ videos, so stay tuned for those to be shared from the Dan’s Fish ‘N’ Tales®/Shoot ‘N’ Plink™ You Tube Channel.

Until next time, shoot safe and have a great day of plinking. #henryleveractioncarbinemareslegskinnerpeepsight

A few months ago I received a Henry Repeating Arms Small Game Carbine and after testing found that most lead bullet ammo would not cycle, so Henry sent me another to try. This one was better, but still had a couple of rounds that didn’t want to cycle.

Andy Larsson‘s Skinner Sights worked great. I’ve been impressed enough on these sights that I would like to have them added to a few more of my Henry rifles, especially the Golden Boy, where I would have the golden “brass” sight to match up with the GB.

Another video with the Skinner Peep Sight will be uploaded by tomorrow. It is using the Skinner Sight for the Mare’s Leg. So, stay tuned. #henryleveractioncarbineskinnerpeepsights

UPS Loses Gun! On March 12th Ruger shipped a semi-auto pistol via UPS 2nd Day Air to my FFL dealer.

On March 14th the gun arrived at my hometown UPS office at 5:50 a.m. The next step should have been “Out for Delivery”. Wrong- some idiot did a departure scan at 5:57 a.m., and away it went to who knows where, saying it was in transit to its destination. No it wasn’t, as it was already at its city of destination.

The only address would have been the FFL dealer, so the only destination UPS office would have been the same town, in which it had already arrived.

It is now 8 days overdue, and the reply from UPS is “an investigation has been started”. If that investigation is as good as their tracking, then there is no way that the package will ever be found, especially when they don’t have a clue in the first place as to where it has gone.

So, if you have a gun coming, or are shipping a gun via UPS, watch it closely, and if you have another choice of shipping, then use it NOT UPS.
