Dan is back with more “Gun Rap”, covering the Browning 1911-22 Grey Compact, Do-All Outdoors and Sportsman’s Guide targets, and Henry Repeating Arms.
This is a video about the Browning 1911-22 Grey Compact model prior to shooting. Another video will be filmed when shooting a comparison with its bigger brother, 1911-22 A1, which is featured in a couple of other videos.
These are great little pistols for plinking as well as for people who want to use a 22 cal for their CCW. I’ll be doing another video with these where I’ll be shooting at some “plinking” Do-All Outdoors and Sportsman’s Guide targets. Hopefully I’ll also be shooting some of Tim Montag‘s Twisted River Armor and Targets AR targets, especially the “bullseye” model that he has.
I was able to get out and shoot my new Browning 1911-22 Grey Compact in comparison to the full size version of the same pistol.

I’ve done some unplanned experimenting on 22 cal. Tonight I opened my target backup box, which is filled with carpeting and carpet foam. I had fired all low velocity 22 ammo of 500, 710 and 1060 fps. All had penetrated 4 1/2″ of heavy cardboard, to which the targets were fastened, plus 6 layers of carpeting and 14 layers of carpet backing foam, for a total of 14 1/2″. The carpet would be equivalent to clothing, and tougher in some cases. The ammo was Aguila and CCI, and the rifles were Henry Repeating Arms Golden Boy and Evil Roy fired at a distance of 20 yards.
