After picking up my Ranger Boats 362V from Davenport Boat Inc. I took it home and got ready to meet Don Banning to team up on a short fishing outing.
I did fairly well with a variety of lures, which included Natural Forage Baits Swim Bait and 4″ Finesse Worm on BFishn Tackle H20 Precision Jig Heads; BFishn Tackle Ribb Finn on a TTI-Blakemore Casey’s Runner Head; and a TTI-Blakemore Go Go Runner.
The NFB 4″ Finesse Worm was probably the best thing going for both of us. I was using a June Bug color and letting it go all the way to the bottom before popping it loose from weeds on the retrieve. Every strike came immediately after the lure was popped from the weeds.
Almost immediately after giving Don one of the NFB worms, and telling him where to cast and how I was retrieving it, he caught the largest fish (shown with Don in photo) of the day.
It was one of those days when the larger fish came on the smaller lures, and the smaller fish were hitting on something a little larger and with a spinner, including a couple of keeper size crappie.
Until next time, get out on the water, and enjoy a great day of fishing.
