Catfish anglers fishing the Bass Pro Shops Big Cat Quest (BCQ) were greeted with cool, foggy weather on Saturday morning. Measured by angler comfort the weather conditions were good according to last year’s BCQ Angler of the Year, Larry Muse. “We got thick fog and 64 degrees,” reported Muse. “Nice!!” Recognizing the big cat potential of the Cumberland River Muse went on to report, “I think it will take 120 pounds to win today.”
The August 8, 2015 event was held near Clarksville, TN, with anglers from nine states participating. AL, AR, GA, IL, IN, KY, OH, MS and TN were represented. Anglers were allowed to trailer their boats as long as they use ramps between the Bumpus Mills Boat Ramp and the Cheatham Dam. Launch time was set at 12:01 am on August 8, but participants could not leave the ramp area waters until 4:00 am. The boundaries for the tournament included the Cumberland River and its tributaries, reachable by boat from the required launch sites.
Fishing began at 6:00 am and ended at 3:00 pm. Anglers had to have their boats back on trailers in the weigh-in line or be at the floating dock at McGregor Park by 4:00 pm for the roll call. Any team missing roll call was not allowed to weigh their catch. Continue reading – http://www.examiner.com/article/awesome-catfish-action-on-the-cumberland-river?CID=examiner_alerts_article
