Angler Alex Newman may have potentially tied the All-Tackle world record for black grouper (Mycteroperca bonaci) with a massive 56.24 kg (124 lb 2 oz) specimen he pulled from waters off Ft. Myers, Florida, USA on June 6th during a local fishing tournament. The massive grouper ate a large live bait, and put up a brutal fight before it could be subdued. The current IGFA world record is 56.28 kg (124 lb).
