BoarBuster Hog Trapping System (VIDEO)

BoarBuster logoThe BoarBuster is a research-based, cutting-edge trapping system developed as a solution for managing the nation’s exploding feral hog population. It is a fully suspended corral trap that can be observed and dropped remotely from anywhere with Internet service, combining the advantage of surprise with the conveniences of personal mobility, trap portability and easy animal removal.

The BoarBuster was developed by researchers at The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The system comprises three main parts:

1. A suspended, sounder-sized corral trap.

2. Motion sensors that alert users of animal activity via text or email.

3. A mobile-controlled deploying function that incorporates live stream video, which allows users to deploy the trap when the entire sounder, or group of feral hogs, is beneath.
