As most everyone knows I’ve been sorting through many years worth of fishing tackle. Some of the lures look like the ones in the photos with mold and rust. However, if I had the newest in Plano tackle boxes, called Rustrictor, this probably would not have happened.
Yes, this is brand new, adn was being held for introduction on the first day of the Bassmasters Classic. However, Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s jumped the gun and let it out.
These are in the Stowaway series, and are treated with a special rust preventative that is so strong that it will even treat lures that are outside of the box in like the front storage of a bass boat.
A couple of questions that were brought up are cost and if they look different. Yes, they will cost about $1 more than the regular Stowaways. As far as looks, nothing major, but they do have bright red type latches, and if held in the sun just right there may be a difference in looks in the plastic.
The Rustrictor Stowaway that I’m anxious to use is the terminal tackle model made for hooks and sinkers, in which I’ll be storing my Daiichi World’s Sharpest Hooks and XPoint Hooks for fishing soft plastics.

Check out your nearest tackle store to see if they may be carrying these new boxes. At the moment they are available at Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops and Dick’s.
In the Quad City area I would suggest stopping by Croegaert’s Great Outdoors in Rock Island and speaking to Tanner Hamburg and John Hurt.
