We are truly saddened by and our hearts go out to the victims and their families, all the congregants of the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh and the brave and dedicated law enforcement and emergency medical personnel who responded to the scene of this heinous and unspeakably cruel hate crime.
On behalf of the members of our industry, the National Shooting Sports Foundation has long advocated for effective solutions to prevent unauthorized access to firearms by criminals, the dangerously mentally ill, children and others who cannot be trusted to handle firearms in a safe and responsible manner.

INDUSTRY SHARES FIREARMS SAFETY MESSAGE … NSSF helped educate municipal, non-profit and corporate safety professionals about the firearms industry’s efforts with Project ChildSafe® to encourage responsible gun ownership and storage at the National Safety Council Expo in Houston last week. Project ChildSafe is one of many industry programs, including Operation Secure Store®, Fix NICS® and suicide prevention, that work to help keep guns out of the wrong hands.
NSSF RELEASES 2018 CONGRESSIONAL SCORECARD … NSSF has released its 2018 Congressional Scorecard to assist voters when deciding which incumbent candidates, based on their voting records, are most likely to support their ability to purchase firearms and to exercise their Constitutional rights. The scorecard is an extension of NSSF’s #GUNVOTE voter education initiative.

- The Pink Pistols announced that the organization’s founder, Doug Krick, known to his friends as “Krikket,” passed away recently. The Pink Pistols is now a division of Operating Blazing Sword, with both groups dedicated to firearms education for the gender and sexual-minority community.
- The 11th Annual Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) National Family Day was held recently at the San Antonio Police Academy with more than 400 disabled veterans, spouses, children and volunteers attending.
