NSSF FILES SUPREME COURT AMICUS BRIEF . . . NSSF is filing an amicus brief requesting the United States Supreme Court to hear the Teixeira v. County of Alameda case arguing that the lawful commerce in arms is protected by the Second Amendment. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals summarily concluded the Second Amendment does not include, let alone protect, a “freestanding” or “independent” right to sell firearms.

HELPING TO PREVENT THEFTS OF FIREARMS FROM VEHICLES . . . NSSF has produced the brochure “Firearms Safety in Vehicles” to remind gun owners that it’s their responsibility to keep their firearms out of the wrong hands, and that if they must leave a firearm in their car or truck, it’s important to take precautions. Locking the doors on your vehicle does not constitute secure firearm storage.
