FLW Tour champion Casey Martin has announced that he will begin offering “fish with a pro” instructional trips via his website www.caseymartinfishing.com. Martin who recently completed his USCG Captain’s training will offer trips on legendary Lake Guntersville in northern Alabama and the No. 1 rated lake in the country – Lake St. Clair near suburban Detroit.
“Having spent a number of years fishing with FLW I have learned some top-notch techniques from some of the best in the world and want to share that knowledge with others who have the same passion for fishing,” said Martin, who won the 2013 FLW Tour regular-season finale on Lake Chickamauga.
Martin has spent a number of days fishing both bodies of water and this experience will help to ensure his clients have a successful and enjoyable day on the water.
“There are a lot of great guides on both bodies of water so I want to offer something different than just a guided trip,” added Martin. “My goal is to make these trips fun and educational.”
Martin, the main focus of FLW’s YouTube reality series Circuit Breaker, sees these trips as an opportunity to connect and interact with fans while sampling two great bodies of water.
“Just from the Circuit Breaker stuff I have gotten requests via social media about offering trips; this business venture is a perfect fit.”
The 33-year-old has guided a few charity trips in the past and looks forward to sharing a boat with future clients.
“After I won the FLW Tour event at Chickamauga I donated some trips to charities like the United Way and that gave me the chance to explore the possibility of conducting instructional trips.”
Martin will continue to fish the FLW Tour and EverStart Series Southeast in 2014. Guiding is an extension of tournament fishing and is a win-win situation for his clients and sponsors.
“In addition to promoting my sponsor’s products on a national scale by fishing the FLW Tour, I can also put sponsor products into customers’ hands, show them the quality and teach them the ins and outs.”
