Gerber, a leading global supplier of personal outdoor, tactical and industrial gear recently released the new Downrange Tomahawk. More than a traditional axe, the Downrange Tomahawk is a complete breaching tool featuring a triple-purpose axe head, pry bar, hammerhead and G-10 scales to keep the tool firmly at hand.
Proudly made in Portland, Oregon, the Downrange Tomahawk delivers a three-tiered approach to breaching. The axe head’s beveled edge is capable of chopping through drywall and turning walls and doors to splinters. The backside of the axe head functions as a hammer for getting through hinges, doorknobs and other obstacles. And the pry bar at the end of the handle, controlled by a cut away grip in the axe head, blends physics and force for incredible leverage.
“The Downrange Tomahawk is another product forged from Gerber’s close relationship with the United States Armed Forces,” said Andrew Gritzbaugh, Marketing Manager for Gerber. “By collaborating with a variety of experienced professionals we’ve developed a tool that accomplishes multiple forced entry tasks, reduces the number of tools carried and ultimately lightens the load. This product accomplishes our mission of providing the warfighter with better battlefield solutions.”
The Downrange Tomahawk includes a MOLLE-compatible sheath and Kydex blade cover for safe carry and fast, unrestrained deployment.
