A new campaign from the American Snuff Company recognizes hunters’ and anglers’ commitment to conservation. The company is making a $250,000 donation to be allocated between two select organizations: Fish America Foundation and Boone and Crockett Club. Through online voting, sportsmen that are adult tobacco consumers can help the company decide how to allocate the donation.
The donation is part of a larger campaign that invites adult tobacco customers to get involved and help the company make a lasting difference for fish, wildlife and the outdoors. On an age-restricted website for the company’s products, adult tobacco consumers can cast daily votes and participate in ongoing conversations about hunting, fishing and conservation topics. Awareness of the campaign will be generated through special camouflage packaging on the company’s moist snuff products, as well as through direct mail, advertising and in-store promotion.
On Dec. 31, the organization with the most votes will receive $130,000 from American Snuff Company. The other organization will receive $120,000.
“This is a way to remind everyone that conservation depends on funding and stewardship from hunters and anglers,” said Keith Balfourd of the Boone and Crockett Club. “We’re grateful to American Snuff Company for reinforcing that message. And we’re honored to stand alongside the Fish America Foundation as recipients of these generous donations.”
