This past week on the water for me was very frustrating; catching was tough and who would have thunk it! Getting on the water with the cool mornings an enjoyable north winds that just made being on the water as enjoyable as any time of the year. Wearing a light jacket early just made one think that the fish were going to be active; but they weren’t. The thing that was weird is the ability to find movement like bait fish moving around the grass or schools moving about was just not there and nothing we did lead to the next bite. It was just erratic and if you missed your bites you just would not get a chance to make it up in any reasonable time frame.
The best day we had my customers were literally dragging a Missile Bait D-Bomb out the back of the boat, leaving it drag behind us as we worked our way thru the area we were fishing. Slow presentation was only hope at least that day. We did have a few days where there was a SPRO frog bite, it was an early presentation with mixed results; and then for some reason then midday the SPRO frog bite showed once again some sense of fish catching. Persistence and patience was the only key to catching fish.
This dog day fishing will end shortly as the water seems to be cooling and as it does the bass will once again start their migration to the backs of the coves and start feeding up on bait for the cold winter ahead. Come fish with me no one will treat you better or work harder to see you have some fun on the water. I have days and guides available to fish with you.
