They drafted my father out of Paul Whiteman’s band just before WWII. If you ever listen to the beginning clarinet solo of Rhapsody in Blue, well that’s Frank Simeone, my good father. Now most of his rifle shooting was restricted to the Shooting Galleries of Coney Island, but when we moved to Arkansas the 22 rifles got a constant back yard work out.
In 1966 Jack Eckles decided to throw the biggest turkey shoot in the world, to make money for the Agriculture Building at Magazine High School. Daddy Frank had a ten dollar bill and the Marlin M25 22 rifle. It was a dollar a shot, iron sights, standing at 50 yards. The target was the head of a live turkey, and they learned how to duck pretty quick.
He and I both missed once and took home 8 turkeys. Jack’s daughter Audie is one of our fans here and I watched her get a turkey as well. Over three thousand people were there, shooting and missing and we sure paid for the building and then some. They held Church at the Turkey Shoot, knowing fully well no one would show up on Sunday. As for an outcry by animal activist, everybody figured they were going to cut off the turkey’s head anyway.
The people have spoken now about many things, one is our gun rights, I want you to know how close we came to losing them. I am celebrating this victory of American Freedom with this fine Henry Rifle, as the Constitution is framed in Muskets by the 2nd Amendment.
I shoot, and have been doing so since I was 5 years old. I have owned and shot and tested the finest 22 rifles in the world. This Henry is one of them a true All American.
I wish my dad was around now he would insist on visiting the Henry Company in Bayonne New Jersey, he and I were born in Jersey City. I’m pretty sure the Imperato and Simeone families most likely knew each other at one time, certainly we do now. Both came here about the same way and made something great like good Americans should.
All American families with of course a little Italian good looks. I noticed that at gun shows all Henry owners are treated like family by Tony. I don’t think he ever met a stranger and neither did I.
Making something for everyone in America, for Americans by Americans is the greatest endeavor. Well I don’t know about you but I’m pretty happy right now I’m going to plan my next deer hunt or small game hunt and I’m ready, because I have 2 Henry Rifles that will fit what ever I decide. I am an American Sharpshooter with All American Rifles, maybe you ought to get one too. Pass it on
