Pepper and I were joined by Don Banning today for our fishing outing.
Pepper was having a lot of difficulty walking, and mainly stayed in the shade of the vehicle. I think I’m going to have to start taking him more in the boat so that I can keep closer watch on him, plus he won’t be moving around as much. He can get under the Ranger’s passenger console when he wants to get in the shade. Although he normally wants up on the front deck with me.
As for the fishing, it was tough, but we did manage to catch a few with Natural Forage Baits‘ RT7 worm and Swim Bait. Don didn’t catch anything until he went to the NFB Swim Bait, and fished it with the technique that I use with a lift-and-drop retrieve. He then caught several nice ones. We rigged the Swim Bait on the BFishn Tackle H20 Precision jig head. I would still like seeing these made in a model with a 2/0 hook. For the RT7 I used it Texas style with a TTI-Blakemore XPoint Worm Hook.
While the NFB lures had Kick’n Bass Fish Attractants in the baits, I still added a little extra Java. It is especially effective with the Swim Bait’s slot to hold the KNB, which is where I always apply the extra dose on this lure.
