During my nearly half century as a fisherman and guide on Georgia’s Lake Lanier, which is one of the busiest lake in the nation, I have enjoyed sharing many secrets, tips and techniques with thousands of people. It has been an extreme (order)pleasure to help them learn to fish this beautiful lake. Through conversations with average folks, I came to realize that many anglers lacked the knowledge of how to fish Lake Lanier successfully.
Because of my guiding experience, a stint with the Georgia Game and Fish as a creel checker, and my involvement in organizing tournaments on Lanier, I knew that plenty of catchable fish were available for anyone with the proper knowledge. Therefore, I concluded that the only reason average fishermen were unable to catch fish consistently at Lake Lanier was a lack of adequate information.
Hopefully by covering many techniques that I have developed over the years, the reader will also be able to catch fish more easily.
Thanks to the opportunity of fishing more than 300 days each year and having other guides and friends who fish the lake frequently, I am afforded a world of information. In these pages, I will pass this knowledge on to the reader, along with marked maps and some lake secrets that would take the average fisherman years to find on his own. Therefore, this will prove to be both an interesting and informative book about fishing Lake Lanier for the reader that will lead to many great catches… B.V.
