Looked at some property for the Shoot ‘N’ Plink

Looked at some property for the Shoot 'N' PlinkAfter seeing my fishing buddy, Dr. Jim Nordquist on a professional level, I took care of some errands, looked at some property for the Shoot ‘N’ Plink™ shooting range, and went fishing for a very short time.

The time wasn’t short by choice, it is something is going haywire in my circulation, and with 44°, 15-20 mph wind, and whatever windchill, my hands were so numb that I could not feel the rod/reel and a fish hook that went into my finger. I’m not sure what I’m going to do this winter for ice fishing. It has been almost five hours since I was at the lake, and fingers on my left hand still hurts and it is cold to the touch.

As for the fishing, once again I was making long casts with the Blitz Lures LLC Spotted Goby 1/2 oz. Blade. Because of the cold I started slowing way down on a lift and fall retrieve after it hit the bottom. The first two strikes were misses, then I hooked up with a big one, which I lost, and a smaller one chased it to the shore. The next fish was about 19 inches, which I was able to land (numb hands and all). The rest of the time were a few more missed strikes, and it was time to give up.

This is the first time I’ve ever had to quit for this sort of a problem other than when I had a blood clot in the leg. Guess what I was told several years ago by a doctor is true – I need to move to the Philippines since I can stand the higher heat and humidity that other people don’t like.

Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get a little more time to fish.

Until next time, get out on the water, and enjoy a great day of fishing.
