Mosher’s TODAY’S TACKLE Merges into the Clam Outdoors Family of Brands

Mosher’s TODAY’S TACKLEAlways open to adding great outdoor products, the newest company to join Clam Outdoors comes through a partnership with Bruce Mosher and Today’s Tackle. The iconic yellow-foam bobbers are a favorite of anglers across the ice belt, in addition to Fish-Well Bags, Tackle Pouches and the Crank Weight. Official as of June 1, the marketing and distribution moved to Clam Outdoors in Rogers, Minn. and the Ice Buster Bobbers’ manufacturing will continue in the Beltrami, Minn. location.

“Bruce Mosher developed the number one, all-time selling ice bobber—unequivocally. He has that title,” said Clam Pro Tackle developer John Crane. “We’re helping take the business to the next level with solid products and a solid track record. Today’s Tackle is a welcome addition to the Clam family of brands.”

Since 1999, the best ice fishing bobbers have been Ice Buster Bobbers. Trim the bright yellow foam down with just a snip of a shears to pair up with the size of the bait, and the fish won’t feel a bit of resistance. Plus the “extra” foam is great for summer fishing when pulling a live bait rig or a bottom bouncer. The Ice Buster Bobber’s plastic base affixes on and off in a snap, and it never freezes to the line because the base stays under water. Even better than a traditional slip bobber because no bead is needed, the slotted hole means line ips through with just a stop knot. Quality, lightweight-yet-solid foam used in Ice Buster Bobbers makes a huge difference to those who know their stuff. Flattery comes with knock offs, and the Ice Buster Bobber has its share, but most often those “other” foam bobbers grow dust on the shelves until they move to the sidewalk sale or the clearance bin. Use with the quality Ice Buster Stop Knots that grab and hold tight. The 3” Ice Buster Bobber easily holds up to 1/16 oz. jigs and the 5” up to 1/4 oz. jigs. Just snip to fit for the exact resistance needed making this the perfect ice fishing bobber. The 3” bobber is sold in two packs with an MSRP of $3.79, six packs at $9.99. The 5” bobber is sold in two packs with an MSRP of $3.99, six packs at $10.99. TTSN-10 is a 10-pack of stop knots carded with MSRP of $1.99 and TTSN-20 is a 20-pack of stop knots carded with MSRP of $3.99.

Clam Pro Tackle’s Crank Weight is designed to drop a “lipped” crank bait down the hole for catching fish through the ice. Snap a Crank Weight to the top eye of the front treble hook of a favorite summertime crank and watch it slowly sink into position. Rip it up and away from the bottom and let the action of the crank draw in some nice walleye, sauger, or northern pike. Versatile for summer fishing, too, create a countdown presentation or make a lure run deeper on a trolling pass. In both glow red and glow green, the Crank Weight is sold three per card in 1/8, 1/6, 1/4 and 3/8 ounce weights. Use the lighter weights for panfish—especially crappies and perch. “Take a favorite open water crank bait you normally cast or troll and convert to ice fishing vertical jigging with the crank weight,” said John Crane. “It’s great to give fish a whole new look and profile in the winter water, and it means we get to use our favorites 365 days a year.” Sold three per card, the MSRP is $4.99.

The Clam Pro Tackle Pouch from Today’s Tackle is a clear-center, easy-on/easy-off wrap to protect baits tied on the lines and rods from being tangled during transport. Three sizes (small 2”, medium 3” and large 4”) cover everything from terminal tackle components on the small side to jigs, small spoons with the medium size and large spoons, jigs and small crank baits and swimming jigs on the large size. The thick, clear plastic makes it easy to locate the rigged rod an angler wants and needs, and the Velcro enclosure keeps it secured. The tab makes an easy grab with thumb and forefinger—even with cold hands or when using gloves. The smooth, protective surface doesn’t snag other lines so rods don’t get tangled in the bucket or the rod bag. Everything stays organized. Sold three per card, the MSRP is $4.99. One of the challenges of ice fishing is dealing with frozen fish or frozen bait; in the harshest of winter conditions it can happen within moments. The new Clam Fish-Well is the perfect alternative to tossing the day’s catch in a pile on the ice.

It also prevents accidentally roasting minnows in a coffee can by the heater. Drill an extra hole and simply lower the Fish-Well down. The maximum flotation, closed-cell foam keeps the well afloat so the fish can’t swim away. Convenient carry straps make it easy to move your catch and a heavy-duty side zipper aids in dumping the fish into a cooler or sink when returning home. In two models, the 7” diameter Fish-Well fits inside 8” holes and the 9” diameter works for 10” holes. Both are 33” deep and will keep fish ready for pictures when the gang is all ready or for ease of cleaning. The nylon coating mesh bag easily rinses clean to wash any residual slime or scales away; simply hang to air dry. Both sizes “Nobody wants to fillet frozen fish if possible,” said Crane about the Fish-Well. “This gathers them up until you’re ready. It also holds bait in the lake water and they stay livelier. Buy minnows on Thursday or Friday and the Fish-Well will keep them alive all weekend.”

“We’re really pleased to be with Clam,” said Bruce Mosher, founder of Today’s Tackle regarding the newly forged partnership. “I’m all about Ice Fishing and Clam has been all about ice fishing for years. It is a good match.” The new synergy will extend the reach of Today’s Tackle products across the ice belt. “Clam can promote these products all over—even all over the world. That takes it to a new level. We both have a love for ice fishing.”
