Organic foods are supposed to be free of antibiotics, growth hormones or other drugs and according to the USDA not genetically modified or in any other way unnaturally “enhanced.” I am amazed at all the organic foods you see in grocery stores. The prices are kind of amazing too.
I have eaten naturally organic foods for years and didn’t even know it until food companies made a big deal about it and figured out that it was a way to make more money.
My organic food is called venison, elk, wild turkey, ducks, pheasant and all the other wild game I hunt and eat. Wild game is the original sustainable, free-ranging, grass-fed meat. It’s lower in fat, cholesterol, and calories than most other meat. Plus, it’s also high in protein, iron and vitamin B, yet low in saturated fat.
The fish I catch and eat are also naturally organic. So are the wild mushrooms I find and prepare with my fish and game. The nuts, wild blackberries, raspberries and other fruit are a special organic treat I pick myself.
The exercise, fresh air and all the other health benefits of harvesting and catching naturally organic foods is huge. It’s good for your body, mind and soul. And, a lot more fun than shopping in a busy grocery store.
Stop by your local Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s store or go to www.basspro.com or www.cabelas for a great selection hunting and fishing gear to help you go get your own organic foods.
