I’m anxious to try the new Sightmark R-series reflex sight. It is about twice the size of my Buck Mark Reflex, but it should work well for rifles. The Buck Mark is more for pistols, such as the Browning Buck Mark. The R-series has some very nice features, which includes quick detach Picatinny mount, 1 hours shutoff, low battery indicator, 10 reticle brightness levels in green or red, with 4 patterns. It is also said to support up to 2,000 hours of battery life.
It has two buttons on the side, one of which turns it on and off, and selects red or green. The other button controls the light intensity. I’ve also noticed that it can be turned off, and the selected intensity stays set where it was last placed. That is nice, but wish you could turn it down without having to cycle through all 10 of the intensity settings.
The reticles are very clear, which is going to make it great for quick target acquisition.
There is also a very nice padded type zip bag that comes with it for storing if taking off, and using something else for a bit.
I’m planning on using it on one of the new Rossi USA rifles, and perhaps an airgun, but not sure which one. It may be the American Tactical AT-97 since it has the Picatinny rail.
More to come on this product when it is put into actual use.
Until next time, shoot safe and have a great day of plinking.
