NEW The Bass University Tip of the Week: Pete Gluszek
“One of the most important things an angler can pay attention to is the seasonal patterns of the bass and the bait” says TBU co-founder Pete Gluszek. “You can be the best deep water angler in the world, but if the bass are on the bank, you are going to have fish in the shallows if you hope to have very much success. Right now most of the bass in our lakes and rivers are located in steeper, deeper, rocky areas that have minimal current. As the water warms later in the spring, the bait and the bass begin to take to the shallows in preparation for the spawn.”
“Two of the most consistent methods to catch bass when they are in the winter patterns and before they begin the spawn are a jerkbait and a lipless crankbait. At The Bass University, we spend a lot of time discussing these two techniques for early spring conditions including: how to identify targets, trigger strikes, and the best way to land finicky cold water bass. The angler that can quickly identify the seasonal pattern will have the best chance to consistently catch bass.”
The Bass University is committed to growing the sport of bass fishing through education by offering the premier bass fishing educational programs in the country!
