NPAA Members Spencer Deutz and Zach Axtman Host Future Anglers Clinic in Menasha, WI. Lake Winnebago marked the fifth stop for the Cabelas Masters Walleye Circuit (MWC) for the 2017 season. The event was headquartered out of Jefferson Park in Menasha, WI. This year on Lake Winnebago, the walleye fishing has been difficult. With the abundance of shad and unstable weather, anglers were guessing all week that it would take 20-25lbs of walleye to win the event. That may seem like a good catch of walleye however past events required over 40lbs.

Many MWC fans attended the day one weigh-in including 19 Future Anglers. These Future Anglers were anticipating the Friends and Family Fishing Clinic following the weigh-in.  As anglers crossed the stage to weigh their catch, they soon realized the 20-25lb two day winning catch was right on track. Out of 57 teams, 40 of them were able to weigh at least one walleye over the 15 inch minimum mark with the leading team weighing five fish for 10lbs.
