Bloomberg’s Everytown Launches Patronizing Effort to Attract Young Women, Stigmatize Gun-Owning Men – Few things are as painfully uncool as a 73-year-old billionaire’s desperate attempts to be relevant. This fact is brought into stark realization by Michael Bloomberg front-group Everytown for Gun Safety’s ham-handed new campaign aimed at stigmatizing guns and gun-owning men among young women. Dubbed “Singled Out,” the campaign website curiously seeks to drive young women to the gun control cause by way of disparaging men who own firearms.

The South West Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD — commonly called Swiftmud) is an out-of-control rogue state agency engaged in a malicious and contrived 40-year effort to shut down the Skyway Trap and Skeet Range in St. Petersburg. It is important to know that this issue is not about lead or water pollution. The site has been cleaned up and the lead has been removed. Further, NO LEAD shot is used on the range — Skyway Trap & Skeet Club prohibits the use of lead shot pellets on their range. Only steel shot is used and it is not a considered a pollutant or contaminant. |

As we have reported several times in the past (including here and here), the Veterans Administration (VA) has been reporting to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) the identities of it beneficiaries who have been assigned a “fiduciary” to manage their benefits. The VA claims that such determinations constitute an “adjudication of mental defectiveness” under federal law, thereby prohibiting the beneficiary (presumptively for life) from acquiring or possessing firearms. The NRA has for several years been supporting legislation to correct this unjustified infringement on Second Amendment rights, including the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act (H.R. 2001, Rep. Jeff Miller, R-FL) and the Mental Health and Safe Communities Act of 2015 (S. 2002, Sen. John Cornyn, R-TX). |

NRA has been criticized by our opponents for contending that those seeking to wreak mass violence on innocents choose their targets based on the likelihood that they will meet armed resistance, and that armed citizens could assist in halting this type of violent attack. As part of their efforts, gun control activists and their allies in the media have frequently lampooned NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre’s astute remarks that “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.” The bankruptcy of this anti-gun position was exposed late last week when details from an FBI terrorism investigation revealed that an alleged ISIS supporter chose the target for a planned terrorist attack because it was a gun-free zone. |

We know from Shannon Watts of the Bloomberg-backed gun control group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America that when it comes to a good guy with a gun stopping a bad guy, “This has never happened. Data shows it doesn’t happen.” Well, it didn’t happen again in Warren, Michigan, on Wednesday. Really, it didn’t. Because this time, it was a good guy stopping a bad gal. |
