California: Sunnyvale Voters Approve Anti-Gun Measure C – Lawsuit Imminent
We applaud the efforts of all who worked tirelessly to oppose Sunnyvale Measure C, and we sincerely thank everyone who did their part to educate their family, friends and fellow gun owners in Sunnyvale about this dangerous affront to the right to keep and bear arms. Unfortunately on November 5, voters approved Measure C, a batch of extreme and misguided gun control laws that jeopardize the rights of gun owners living in and passing through Sunnyvale. The newly passed laws are set to take effect in January 2014.

On Monday, November 5, the Pleasant Hill City Council voted 3 to 2, on second reading, to approve a set of local laws governing the sale of firearms. The citizens of Pleasant Hill have one more chance to call AND e-mail members of the city council urging them to OPPOSE these unnecessary and burdensome local requirements. The final vote on this onerous ordinance will take place on Monday, November 18.
California Court of Appeals Confirms Ruling Striking Down Ammunition Sales Restrictions
On November 6, 2013, the California Court of Appeals for the 5th District affirmed the lower court’s issuance of a permanent injunction in the NRA/CRPA backed legal challenge to Assembly Bill (AB) 962, Parker v. California. AB 962 would have banned mail order ammunition sales and required all purchases of so-called “handgun ammunition” to be registered. The court’s 41 page published opinion confirms that AB 962 is unconstitutionally vague and cannot be enforced.
