NWTF Launches “Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt.” TV

The NWTF’s popular land management television show, “Get in the Game,” is getting a new name and a new spin. The show will now be titled “Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt.” and will highlight the connection between the on-the-ground improvements the show helps landowners implement and the NWTF’s new Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative. The “Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt.” show will offer the same informative programs to help teach landowners and sportsmen valuable land and wildlife management tips and techniques.

“The folks that liked ‘Get in the Game’ are going to love the new approach,” said executive producer John Brown. “We are still going to deliver the best land management programming out there but are now going to help connect the dots between the work sportsmen are doing on their property and the larger efforts to ensure that the lifestyle we love is here for generations to come.”

The Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative is a bold new effort from the NWTF that will conserve or enhance 4 million acres of critical upland wildlife habitat, create 1.5 million new hunters and create access to 500,000 new acres for public hunting.

This initiative comes at a crucial time, as the sporting community is faced with a number of daunting challenges: national wild turkey populations have declined 15 percent with much more dramatic declines in some historically important areas; 6,000 acres of upland wildlife habitat are lost every day; hunter numbers are not keeping pace with population growth, endangering the fund model for conservation in North America.

“Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt” TV will air on the Pursuit Channel beginning July 3 and be shown on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m., Thursday at 5:30 p.m., Friday 12:30 a.m. and Sunday at 11:30 p.m.
