The new Ranger 2080VS Angler delivers multipurpose boat buyers the benefits of a best-in-class fishing platform plus the increased power and performance of a dynamic watersports boat. Built on a proven hull design that’s longer, deeper and wider, Ranger’s newest do-it-all dream rig has room for all the people and gear necessary for an unforgettable day on the water.
Measuring 20 feet, 5 inches in length, the new Ranger 2080VS Angler is rated for 250 horsepower and is available with a host of precision-matched, factory-rigged outboards. Like all Ranger boats, the 2080VS boasts a full complement on tournament-ready fishing features. The boat comes factory equipped with a Minn Kota Power Drive trolling motor, three-bank on-board battery charger and a Lowrance Mark-5X Pro mounted at the console. There’s also room at the bow for flush mounting electronics centered between built-in cup and tool holders. Inside the cockpit are four pedestal-mounted seats, two of which can be moved to fishing positions on the front and back decks.
The new 2080VS Angler boasts a huge center rod locker with room for rods up to 7 feet, 6 inches in length and an oversized, aerated livewell. In addition, the massive front casting deck includes a conveniently located baitwell and gel-coat lined cooler. A wealth of storage continues throughout the boat, with areas in the gunnels for even more room, plus a flip-down tackle storage system beneath the passenger’s console. With snap-in carpet for easy cleaning and available in single or dual console designs, the 2080VS can be configured to suit the fishing needs of multispecies anglers in the upper Midwest, on Southern reservoirs or virtually anywhere in between.
When it’s time to play, the 2080VS Angler transitions easily into the role of a watersports boat with the addition of an available ski tow, delivering plenty of low-end power to haul skiers and tube riders around the lake with ease. Additional fish-and-play options include a bimini top, premium marine stereo system and a walk-through windshield configuration.
“We know that for a lot of families, buying a boat that meets everyone’s needs can sometimes mean compromising on things like fishability or quality or even resale value,” said Ranger Boats President Randy Hopper. “There’s no compromise in the 2080 Angler. It’s a tournament-ready multispecies fishing rig that has the versatility and muscle of a true watersports boat.”
The 2080VS Angler comes paired with a custom Ranger Trail® tandem-axle trailer, engineered to be the strongest, most durable and smoothest traveling trailer on the road. The matching fiberglass fenders and all-channel-steel construction ensure long-lasting protection and echo the boat’s striking good looks. Equipped with Ranger’s ultra-tough Road Armor finish, the Ranger Trail trailer is also standard with LED lights, aluminum wheels, full-sized spare, COOL Hub lubrication system, torsion axle suspension and locking, swing-away tongue.
