Through its corporate volunteering and outreach program, The SOLution, SOLitude Lake Management, an industry leader in lake and pond management, fisheries management and related environmental services for the Eastern United States, donated $2600 in turkeys and grocery store gift cards to 137 under resourced families, donated 39 pounds of non-perishable food and volunteered at the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula.
This year, SOLitude’s ‘Little GOBBLERS’ program grew 120 percent in the number of families supported and 100 percent in the number of schools who received turkeys or gift cards. The 10 elementary and middle schools located in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Newport News, Fredericksburg and Charlottesville, VA, Raleigh, NC, Lincoln, DE and West Grove, PA all identified a need within their schools and were extremely grateful for SOLitude’s assistance this time of the year.
In addition to the donation of food and funds, the SOLitude team also donated their time to the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula. This organization requested help stocking and organizing shelves so that other organizations who prepare and distribute food could offer Thanksgiving meal foods. Seven members of the SOLitude team volunteered and they were joined by four vendor partners. The SOLitude team also delivered 39 pounds of non-perishable food that was collected at the most recent team meeting.
“We have so much to be thankful for in our own lives and The SOLution and Little GOBBLERS initiative allows our company the opportunity to give back to the communities in which we serve,” said Tracy King, SOLitude’s Director of Marketing. “Our entire team is truly grateful that we can support so many more under resourced families this year.”
