STAG ARMS has won the contract to outfit the CT Dept. of Corrections with 160 rifles and delivery was scheduled for Tuesday, June 26th.
Several major rifle manufacturers were among the participants in the bidding process, during which STAG ARMS emerged as the “top gun” – the one that could best meet the needs of the state DOC. The custom configured Model 1 rifles will replace the DOC’s outdated Ruger AC 556 models and are a “perfect fit for the department,” explains David Larson, sales manager for STAG ARMS. “The Model 1 we designed features a custom carry handle sight and a larger trigger guard modification, which ensures reliability in harsh winter weather conditions.”
The Model 1 remains one of STAG ARMS top selling models and is often requested by police departments. Citing the need for an accurate, durable, and above all technologically advanced rifle, the DOC chose STAG ARMS without hesitation and made it clear they did not want an “out of the box” model. “My fellow officers and I look forward to utilizing highly reliable rifles and working with a CT company will certainly help to keep revenue in the state,” says CT DOC Officer Tony Chapman.
STAG ARMS often works in conjunction with local and national police departments to provide officers with optics and accessory ready carbines for duty use. “Being a CT company, we are proud to have the chance to collaborate with the CT DOC. This is an exciting opportunity for us – one which allows us to continue to create jobs, protect our local officers, and, at the same time, enables us to preserve manufacturing in the state of Connecticut,” explained Mark Malkowski, owner and president of STAG ARMS.
