A bad choice for Oregon anglers – For the past decade, Bruce Buckmaster has been the voice of the commercial gillnet industry. Now, Governor Kate Brown wants to appoint him to a seat on the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission. The commission already has commercial fishing interests represented. What it needs is someone to represent recreational anglers. Buckmaster is not a choice we can afford and today we have an opportunity to make this right.
Please join with the regional coalition of recreational fishing groups opposing Buckmaster’s appointment. Tell Salem you want fair representation for all anglers on the Fish and Wildlife Commission – not just a rubber stamp for gillnetters. Mark your calendar: Attend a rally scheduled for 2pm on Tuesday, May 19 at the capitol steps in Salem.
