Hoyt shooters came, saw and conquered the competition in the City of Legnica, Poland at the 10th World University Championships. In the women’s compound division, the all-Hoyt team from Mexico walked away with the gold medal by defeating the team of Malaysia. The young Korean men confirmed once again that they are here to stay. The all-Pro Comp Elite team from Korea defeated the all-Hoyt Mexican team in the gold medal match. The USA Women’s team of Kacey Eggers, Hunter Jackson and Kannsas Micheals took the bronze medal, with all three women shooting Hoyt bows.
In the mixed team competition the team from Korea walked away with their second gold medal of the day.
Katia D’AGOSTINO from Italy won the gold over Stephanie SALINAS PEREA (MEX) in the women’s individual competition.
In the men’s compound division, Vladyslav BOLSHAKOV (UKR) defeated his Korean opponent, KIM Jongho, for the top honors; while Daniel GREGORY from the USA won the bronze medal.
In the women’s recurve category TAN Ya-Ting (TPE) took her Hoyt Ion-X all the way to the top of the individual podium after already winning a silver medal with her all-Hoyt teammates in the team rounds.
In the all-Hoyt men’s final, Louis ALVARES from Mexico edged out his opponent, local hero Maciej FALDZINSKI, from Poland to take the gold.
Louis and his teammate Alejandra VALENCIA also won a silver medal in the recurve mixed team round.
