Season 2 of TGO, Tom Gruenwald Outdoors, is now here! As thousands of ice anglers already know, if you love the sport of ice fishing, this one-of-a-kind show is one you simply cannot miss. Each week, your host Tom Gruenwald is joined by personal friends and ice pros such as Jeff Kelm, Steve Bunka, Andrew “Smitty” Smith, Dennis Foster, Aron Kastern and Lacey Hill to share another on-ice adventure!
This season, you’ll see Tom respond to and perform an on ice rescue with a dive rescue team. Demonstrate how to use Windlass wind tip-ups. Fight lake trout on Saskatchewan’s Lac La Plonge, try various tactics for hooking pike and brown trout along the harbors of Lake Michigan, jig up some finicky first ice bluegills on a northern Wisconsin flowage, take a group of military veterans ice fishing for the first time, fish brown trout, salmon and steelhead on Lake Superior, work a school of white bass on Wisconsin’s famed Lake Winnebago and ice some hefty pike in South Dakota. You’ll even learn some tactics for ice fishing bass—both large and smallmouth—and watch as Tom experiments with some techniques he learned while ice fishing in China to catch carp—that’s right, carp–through the ice right here in North America!
