For the second time in three years, The Bassmasters television show has won the Outdoor Channel’s Golden Moose Award as the Best Fishing Show in the “Fan Favorites” category. The show was also honored as the fan favorite in the same category in 2012. The Bassmasters, which covers the Bassmaster Elite Series circuit, is produced by JM Associates. Another JM program, Zona’s Awesome Fishing Show, was selected as the “Best Fishing Show” by a panel of judges in the Golden Moose Awards program.
The presentations were made during the Outdoor Channel’s Golden Moose Awards banquet during the annual SHOT Show, the shooting and hunting industry’s annual trade show, in Las Vegas. The annual awards ceremony recognizes the top editors, producers and talent in the outdoor television industry. Tommy Sanders, emcee of The Bassmasters, and Steve Bowman of JM Associates accepted the awards on behalf of JM.
“These two awards are the pinnacle in outdoor television,” said Mike McKinnis, producer of both shows. “They showcase the best of the best, and we are really honored to be recognized in that group.”
“We are extremely pleased that both the judges and the fans recognize the outstanding work of JM in producing Zona’s Awesome Fishing Show and The Bassmasters,” said Bruce Akin, CEO of B.A.S.S. “We also want to thank the Outdoor Channel for sponsoring these prestigious awards and for all they do to promote fishing and the outdoors.”
The Bassmasters begins its 30th year of production March 1 with the airing of the first of six hours of original programming on ESPN2 about the 2014 GEICO Bassmaster Classic. The show also airs on the Outdoor Channel.
