Uberti Adds Retractable Firing Pin to 1873 Cattleman Revolvers: Uberti’s acclaimed 1873 Cattleman SAA replica lineup, a longtime favorite among single-action shooters and collectors, now delivers the benefits of a modern transfer bar revolver through the addition of a retractable firing pin. The new Uberti Cattleman II Brass and Steel models with retractable firing pins avoid pin on primer issues while enabling the revolver to look 100 percent historically authentic from the outside.
Traditionally, cowboys have always carried their single-action revolver with the hammer resting on an empty chamber. The reason for this is that otherwise the fixed firing pin could be rested on a live primer, thus risking discharge if the hammer were to be struck or bumped. The new and innovative Uberti retractable firing pin floats free in its guide inside the hammer, thereby exerting no pressure towards a chambered round. Only when the trigger is pressed from a fully cocked position will the sear that engages the firing pin lock it in the forward position so as to ignite the cartridge primer. When the trigger is then released, the firing pin floats free again, exerting no forward pressure.
From the outside, this added safety device enables this line of historical replicas to look perfectly true to the original revolver design since no additional element like a hammer safety bar or transfer bar impinges on the clean lines of the hammer, firing pin or frame.
Available in .45 Colt, .44-40 WCF and .357 Magnum, the Uberti Cattleman II Brass with retractable firing pin features a brass trigger guard and backstrap with an MSRP of $549; the Cattleman II Steel with retractable firing pin has an MSRP of $559. Matched sets of Cattlemen II Steel in .45 Colt or .357 Magnum, are also available and have an MSRP of $1,159.

Kenda Lenseigne Partners with Uberti to Design Ultimate Competitive Single-Action Revolver for CMS, SASS Shooting: World and National Cowboy Mounted Shooting (CMS) champion and CMSA Hall of Famer Kenda Lenseigne has partnered with Uberti to design a custom-grade competition single-action revolver from the ground up. The partnership has resulted in the Uberti Short Stroke CMS Kenda Lenseigne (KL) Pro, CMS Pro and SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) Pro revolver family, which are new for 2016.
“In the world of professional competitive CMS and SASS shooting, fractions of a second are often what separates the winner from the also-rans. And when speed is as important as accuracy in a race-gun platform, the world’s top CMS and SASS shooters look for every advantage they can get,” Lenseigne said. “For this reason, the new Uberti Short Stroke CMS and SASS Pro family feature a short-stroke action, meaning that hammer travel and hammer-travel time are reduced by 16 percent over conventional revolvers. Also key for this family of revolvers is the custom-grade mainspring that makes cocking the hammer butter smooth and gives an ultra-crisp feel to the trigger.”
Chambered in the classic .45 Colt and sporting a 3 1/2-inch barrel, the Short Stroke CMS KL Pro revolver also features Kenda’s signature as well as a completely new grip, redesigned by the champion herself and bearing her carved logo in the wood panels. The Short Stroke CMS Pro is distinguished by deeply checkered grips in the traditional 1873 Single Action style. The SASS Pro features traditional grips and is available in 4 3/4- and 5 1/2-inch barrel configurations, as well as offering the chambering option of.45 Colt or .357 Magnum. The Uberti CMS Pro, CMS KL Pro and SASS Pro are all equipped with a low-profile, extra-wide hammer with aggressive checkering, as well as wide rear channel (EasyView) sights. This hammer enables quick target acquisition as well as a constant view of the target.
Practice makes perfect, but it doesn’t have to make a dent in the bank account. The new Uberti 12-Shot .22 LR Trainer is fitted with a custom-grade mainspring and sports the same authentic look and feel of the CMS Pro without the short-stroke feature. Its 12-shot cylinder means less money spent on practicing and less time reloading.
“When I compete at such high levels, I have to have total confidence in my equipment,” Lenseigne said. “Uberti has given me this confidence and I look forward to sharing with U.S. shooters – whether they are competitors or enthusiasts – this line I helped design.”

Uberti 1866 Yellowboy Flatside Short Rifle 150th Anniversary Model: Known for its distinctive brass receiver and repeating action, the 1866 Yellowboy was the first true “cowboy” lever-action rifle to be widely accepted by those who made their life in the saddle. To celebrate the rich history of this iconic firearm of the American West, Uberti announces the release of the limited-edition 150th Anniversary Model of the fabled 1866 Yellowboy.
The original 1866 Yellowboy signified an improvement over the original Henry rifle with the addition of its side-loading gate and fore end. Uberti’s sesquicentennial model retains these improvements and tacks on a few more to further enhance this 150-year-old classic. This lavishly engraved limited edition features the “transitional” flat-sided receiver, which straddles the Model 1860 and the 1866, a characteristic found only in very early 1866 serial numbers.
Limited to a production of 350, Uberti’s 1866 Yellowboy Engraved Anniversary Model features the distinctive side-loading gate along the face of the unique flat receiver plate found in very early 1866 rifles. Each receiver is engraved with a fine pattern copied directly from the original found in the Uberti collection, and hand chased for a truly unique appearance. The dark, case-hardened lever further enhances the overall aesthetics of the model as it contrasts with the brass receiver.
The limited-edition model features a round, 20-inch barrel, which is encased with a satin walnut fore end and finished with a brass fore end cap. A brass carving-style buttplate wraps the A-Grade walnut buttstock to round out the rifle’s distinctive looks.
Chambered in .45 Colt with a 10+1 capacity, Uberti’s 1866 Yellowboy Flatside 150th Anniversary Model carries an MSRP of $1,778, weighs 7.55 pounds and has an overall length of 39 inches.
Carried by shooters worldwide, the 1866 Yellowboy will forever be linked to the legends and allure of the Old West. Long known for its high-quality, authentic replicas, Uberti firearms are a favorite of cowboy-action shooters, collectors and gun enthusiasts around the world.
