Through a grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Texas State University (TSU) has its own spy drone patrolling the countryside from the sky, surveying bird habitats and tracking the spread of invasive species.
The $30,000 drone–operated through a $260,000 two-year grant from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department– flies at 1500 feet, taking photos that are later analyzed by a team of biologists, spatial analysts, and geographers at TSU River Systems Institute. Read more….
