Water and Wildfires

We all like clean water to drink and green forests to hunt in. Fortunately, the two are not mutually exclusive, especially in the western United States. Green, healthy forests lead to clean water for local and downstream users, and the NWTF is doing their part to provide both in Eastern Arizona.

Through a grant from the Arizona Water Protection Fund, the NWTF is working to improve and enhance eight streamside corridors and wetlands sites on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. These project sites range in size from just a few acres to 427 acres and will continue to provide quality, wildlife habitat for wildlife, such as elk, black bears, wild turkey, Chiricahua leopard frogs and Three Forks springsnails.  Read more….
