World Sight Day and WaveBorn

World Sight DayWaveborn, an innovative sunglass company for the fashion, outdoors and sporting markets, increases donation efforts with their Mega Month of Giving campaign in honor of  World Sight Day (WSD), celebrated this year on Thursday, October 10th, 2013. Now through October 10th, Waveborn will triple their donations to their partner organizations  Unite for Sight® and SEE International for every pair of sunglasses sold. For the entire month of October after the tenth, Waveborn with double their donations to these organizations for every pair of sunglasses sold.

With approximately 285 million people worldwide living with low vision and blindness, Waveborn has stepped up to the challenge to aid in raising awareness of vision and eye health issues and has integrated philanthropy as part of their business model since their founding in the summer of 2011.

WSD is an annual day of awareness held on the second Thursday of October to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment. WSD is co-ordinated by The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) under the VISION 2020 Global Initiative.
